When a llama is registered with the PLTA, it is registered for life. It is given an official number that is used track its participation in all PLTA sanctioned events and corresponding databases. However, the llama may only participate in events if its owner is also a member, and its handler at a PLTA event, if not the same as the owner, is at least an associate member.
